It was 2022 and i just returned from Lagos state, where I have worked as a dispatch rider for seven months. Now in Port Harcourt, I wanted to continue my delivery job. However, I soon realized the service here was a hassle, especially with the long distances between pickup and delivery points.

I also realized that customers needing delivery services faced challenges of finding reliable riders, risk of package loss, and delays in package delivery.

One day, while in a taxi coming back from the ALX hub in Port Harcourt, something clicked. The taxi I boarded had stopped at a junction to pick up passengers when a lady approached and handed the driver an item to deliver somewhere down the road. This got me thinking about the risks involved in such a setup – the lady didn’t even know the driver, and there was a 90% chance the package could get stolen.

This was when Sendez Deliveries was born. I wanted to create a solution that would make dispatch services safer and more efficient. With our apps, no need for riders to go long distances for pickup, and no uncertainty about who’s handling your packages – because we vet our pilots. It’s been an interesting journey with customers trusting us with their delivery needs.
